A Re-cladding Story
The re cladding of a two storey textured house with a direct fixed monolithic cladding. This house was built in 2000, prior to the change in the building requirements relating to direct fixed monolithic cladding, and unfortunately was not able to receive a Code of Compliance Certificate through the local council.

Front elevation before the works. It is important to note there are no visible signs of leaking, such as cracking of sheet joins, or staining of cladding below or around windows. We checked the home with moisture meters and found no elevated readings.
The owners have kindly consented to us monitoring the progress for the benefit of our future clients

Beginning at the rear of house. The single level at the rear of the house enabled the re-cladding work to proceed without the need for scaffolding.
The joinery is removed and the window liners replaced due to the increase in wall thickness with the new cavity system being installed. New building paper or wrap is dressed into the window openings followed by the installation of special sealing tapes.

Installation of the new Linea cladding is in progress over the cavity system. The windows have been reinstated with air seals and new architraves installed. Although this is June, the owners have not been bothered too much by the cold weather. The disruption to their routines whilst remaining in their property has also been minimal. Sheets are hung at the windows each night for privacy until the drapes are reinstated. |

With the rear of the property now 99% completed, apart from final plumbing work, it is time to move onto the North side and front of this property. The owners have been delighted with progress to date, and it's only July!
The owners have chosen not only Linea but also Eldorado's Schist Stone to enhance the appearance of the property, see what you think; we love it. |

This home has created a great deal of interest in the local area. The existing brick work around the garage has been clad with schist as well as the entrance pillars, the front entrance has a new cedar ceiling and new windows lined with cedar jambs. The tarpaulins provide non stop cover for all trades to get the job done quickly and professionally without the worry of rain. |

It's now 12 weeks since the start, the owners are ecstatic with the house and can't wait for us to finish and leave!
Please note that the gardens are still in relatively good shape; while builders are generally not horticultural friendly, we try to be as careful as possible. We even constructed a special temporary cat door for the owners precious moggies!

The house looks fantastic, detailing has been completed to an extremely high standard, to the point of re-cladding the letter box and twin pillar to match.
Owner's Final Word
"
It was a relatively short process and the team at Urban1st were great to work with. Nothing was too much trouble. The Urban1st team's attention to detail and knowledge of this type of work was superior to a majority of companies in the same industry. We recommend Urban1st to any home owners with a home that is in need of recladding. With some additional design flair we were able to achieve a great look; and the house went up in value, which covered most of our costs. Thanks Again Urban1st."
